Terms
Last updated 7 October 2026
These are the terms for using Mochi. They're short and in plain words. By downloading or using Mochi, you agree to them.
Who makes Mochi
Mochi is made by Toe Bean Studio, a tiny independent studio. In these terms, "we" and "us" means Toe Bean Studio, and "you" means the person using Mochi.
The free app
You can download Mochi and use the free features for personal use on as many Macs as you like.
Your Pro licence
- Mochi Pro is a one-time purchase that gives you a personal licence to use Pro on one Mac.
- You can move your licence to a new Mac at any time from the app (Mochi Pro, then Move Pro to another Mac).
- The licence includes updates for version 1 of Mochi.
- The licence is for you. Please don't share, resell, or publish your licence key.
What you can't do
- Redistribute, sell, rent, or sublicense Mochi or its artwork.
- Remove the licence check or try to get around it.
- Use Mochi to break the law or the terms of the AI provider you connect.
Purchases
Purchases are handled by Paddle, our merchant of record. If something's wrong, email us within 14 days and we'll make it right, including a refund.
Paddle handles the payment, the receipt, and sales tax, and its own buyer terms apply to the purchase.
AI providers
Pro works with your own AI key from the provider you choose. You're responsible for your account with that provider, its costs, and following its terms. Mochi asks before risky actions, like sending, buying or deleting, but you decide what she does on your behalf.
Provided as is
Mochi is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We work hard to make her reliable, but we can't promise she'll be free of bugs or work on every Mac. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for any damages that come from using or not being able to use Mochi.
Changes
If these terms change, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
